Des de fa anys, un dels àmbits de recerca del Grup BIOCOM-SC és l’epidemiologia matemàtica. En aquests moments davant de la crisi provocada pel COVID-19, hem començat a treballar intensament per ajudar a comprendre i a preveure. Ho estem fent juntament amb el Centre de Medicina Comparativa i de Bioimatge de Catalunya (Institut de Recerca en Ciències de la Salut Germans Trias i Pujol).

En aquesta pestanya de la web, de moment, trobareu tres tipus d’informació:

• Un document divulgatiu que pretén ajudar a entendre la dinàmica epidemiològica.
• Informes diaris que realitzem amb la voluntat d’avaluar la situació i fer prediccions a curt termini a Catalunya, Espanya i la Unió Europea.
• Resum diari de la situació als països de la Unió Europea, alguns altres països i a les comunitats autònomes de l’Estat (només en anglès). Cal dir que els informes són de caràcter tècnic, la seva comprensió requereix uns mínim fonaments d’epidemiologia matemàtica. Inclouen el detall de la metodologia emprada.
• Prediccions del dies previs on es pot comprobar la fiabilitat del mètode a les prediccions fetes fins ara.

One of the BIOCOM-SC Group's areas of research is mathematical epidemiology. In these times of crisis caused by COVID-19, we are working to help understanding and predicting its dynamics. These studies are being developed together with researchers from the Comparative Medicine and Bioimage Centre of Catalonia (Institute for Health Science Research Germans Trias i Pujol).

In this web, for the moment, you will find three types of information:

• An informative document that aims to help understand the epidemiological dynamics.
• Daily reports of the situation and short-term prediction in Catalonia, Spain and the European Union.
• Daily summary of the situation in the countries of the European Union, some other countries and in the Spanish autonomous communities (English only). These reports are technical, their understanding requires a minimum basis of mathematical epidemiology. They include the details of the methodology employed.
• Previous predictions of the fitness of the method employed for the predictions done in the past.
