I hold a degree in Physics from the University of Barcelona and a PhD in Applied Physics and Simulation in Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). I am a a Full Professor at the UPC and researcher in the group of Computational Biology and Complex Systems (BIOCOM-SC). I am also president of the Grup Interdisciplinary de Professionals vinculats amb la Salut (GIPS), academic of the Real Acadèmia de Medicina de Catalunya (RAMC), full member of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans (IEC) and patron of the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. My research focuses on the use of computational modelling for the study of infectious diseases, mainly tuberculosis and COVID-19.
